Approach

Harcourt works quietly, in concert with those responsible for outcomes, and withdraws once its role is complete. Every engagement begins with a conversation, not a proposal. The firm seeks to understand what is truly at stake, what has already been attempted, and whether its involvement would add genuine value. If not, it will say so. Consulting directors engage personally, without leverage, supported by rigorously and independently developed analysis.

REFERRAL – Engagements arise through trusted introductions. The firm does not solicit.

CONVERSATION – A focused, confidential discussion to understand the situation and assess where Harcourt can be of genuine use.

MANDATE – A concise mandate note defines purpose, scope, timeframe, and exit conditions. Nothing begins without it.

SELECTION – The appropriate consulting director is identified on the basis of experience, independence, and fit.

ENGAGEMENT – Short, intensive, and discreet — conducted directly with those who carry the decision.

EXIT – Once the objective is achieved, the firm withdraws. Any continuation is treated as a new mandate.

From introduction to engagement, the process is deliberate and typically takes several months.
The firm’s current commitments mean new mandates are generally scheduled well in advance.
